Soccer, basketball, cricket abd tennis will probably stay the most 'intact' - as in they won't change much. Archetypes like combat Sports or objectives shooters (CS:GO or overwatch) will still be popular but they will change and update more.

As for why, simple / low barrier / "unsolvable" games (where many strategies can work - not just one) win out.
