But the fight against genetically engineered salmon isn't over. I'll work to protect AK, our fish populations & larger ecosystems from potentially disastrous outcomes https://bit.ly/2KuSrxS

Because one senator should stop innovation and profits for aquaculture farmers that use landlocked tanks. Senator, you can stop USA production, but the rest of the world rockets past us.
-
In Canada, we're very proud to support innovation and job creation by safely approving
@aquabounty salmon. -
Not true. I was invited to Prince Edward Island by residents that strongly oppose GMO egg production on the island. I've worked for years Canadian scientists and consumers that do not want GMO salmon produced in Canada.
-
There's a tiny minority of Cnds opposed to innovation. Fortunately GM salmon were approved for consumption after a science-based risk ass't. I'm proud to be able to safely eat GM salmon.
-
I've seen protests w/thousands of people & efforts to outlaw them in provinces. That line may work w/ people from down south, but here in AK we keep in touch w/our Canadian neighbors. I know it's not a tiny minority. Read up- https://cban.ca orhttps://gmo-awareness.com/resources/anti-gmo-groups-in-canada/ …
-
A Health Canada study reported only 7% of Canadians regularly look for non-GMO labels. This means 93% or 33.5 million support GM crops and foods. Sadly, there's always a tiny minority opposed to all forms of innovation in society.
-
That does not mean they support them. That is a real stretch.
-
Canadians want safe, nutritious & cheaply priced food. Process is irrelevant.

Fisheries are running empty. AquaBounty Salmon can help relieve that stress and provide nourishing food to a billion chronically malnourished people around the world. It's easy to vote against scientific progress when you're wealthy and have a full belly.pic.twitter.com/NFNC6AJAsK

Ok, just so I’m clear on this, you protect the salmon but not the humans. Got it.

Who are you to dictate what Indiana can do?

Foolishly, I hope for leadership but get political expediency. Shame on me. Resolutely, I all expect honesty but get deception and misinformation. Shame on you. The technology is safe and improves the sustainability of our fisheries.

How would these fish in land-based facilities in Indiana make their way to Alaska? Plus we need to be prepared when warming oceans decimate fish populations. And how can you put enforceable law into a spending bill? If that’s possible, why didn’t you sneak in DACA protections?

Omg, isn’t more important things to do? Did you see where your colleague from the Senate, Marco Rubio, admitted the
#goptaxscam was for the top 1% and corporations? When are you going to come clean and admit you SCAMMED the middle class? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Are you kidding me?! Would you go learn some science before you start making fear based, scientificly unsupported laws.
