Why do y’all make ‘view the results’ a choice on these polls…it literally throws off the stats.

Not adding it invalidates your poll because many people will choose a random option just to see the results. You can just subtract the % for "View these results" from 100 and divide the rest of the results by that number to get a valid percentage.

Unfortunately I don't "hear" it but suspect that one explanation is preparatory activation of the acoustic/stapedius reflex to dampen the impending sound. The thump could be recorded in some people using extratympanic manometry (ETM).
