    No dispute with your reporting, Caroline. Woodward knew about ESL but apparently not the closed nature of the league which Glazer went along with. Dan Rosenfield must have been given heads-up on ESL. Issue is when precisely PM informed and his response. Unclear. maybe Dom knows

    Not what I was told. My sources say Ed Woodward knew about the Super League for weeks, as did other club CEOs, and certainly before the No10 meeting. My understanding is he planned to jointly resign from ECA with Juventus boss Agnelli, and this had long been discussed

    One must add the legal rider that our ex PM may not have been aware of the degree to which Greensill’s model had gone badly wrong.....

    This makes simple but powerful point about David Cameron’s incessant lobbying of HMT and the Bank of England: Greensill was in financial trouble and desperately needed de facto backing of the state via Covid emergency business loan scheme. So not an entirely altruistic exercise
