One of the most important papers I have been involved in throughout my career. The gist of it is that it combines, in some smart way, meta-heuristic search and SMT solving. It worked and scaled for complex constraints on industrial case studies. This is applicable beyond testing.

The paper was first conditionally accepted as we were asked to clarify "threats to validity". The clarifications indeed made the paper more self-contained and clarified the context of application of our work.

This work was performed in collaboration with LuxSpace, a company building satellite systems and headquartered in Luxembourg. This work is part of our ERC Advanced grant program on automated testing of cyber-physical systems.

Our @ICSEconf 2020 submission was accepted: "Approximation-Refinement Testing of Compute-Intensive Cyber-Physical Models: An Approach Based on System Identification". Congratulations to @menghi_claudio, @ShivaNejati, and Yago Isasi (LuxSpace).
