Julian Tang, @Don_Milton, and I address some of the fallacies in the UK's recommendations for preventing transmission of SARS-CoV-2. Close contact is a distance, not a mechanism of transmission.https://www.journalofhospitalinfection.com/article/S0195-6701(21)00210-3/fulltext#.YK2RMmrRgx0.twitter …

It is virtual the only type of contact that was counted as spread by most schools and that definition allowed the false claim of no in school spread and the ignoring of the importance of ventilation and filtration and even masking.

Close distance is large concentration! Longer distance means low or lower concentration.

Because it’s only sometimes airborne, it’s spread by droplets. These obviously carry more virus because they are bigger. We don’t need to prove things that are obvious. 2/

The paper also states that Aerosol Generating Procedures are the source of aerosol. I research fluid dynamics and have already read the papers in anesthesia proving this is not right. How this paper managed to miss this issue?

Because its authors are: • Mired in the politics of sub-optimal & illegal (according to workplace safety legislation) standards of PPE provision & they are trying to protect their Gov +/- IPAC colleagues’ position, &/or • Suffering from ‘terminal’ bias; terminal ‘cos time’s up!

"If (particles)can be inhaled, no matter how far they have travelled, they are aerosols." Thank you to the experts for this semantic clarity.
