If you're worried about the emergence of variants, the best thing you can do BY FAR is to get vaccinated and encourage everyone you know to do to the same.

Andrew Read's work specifically suggests that "leaky" vaccines, which do not reduce replication and transmission, can incite pathogens to evolve. Covid-19 vaccines effectively reduce replication and transmission so they do not fit these criteria.

Again, the science is very clear on this: The absolute best thing you can do to prevent the emergence of more Covid-19 variants is to get vaccinated. Also, bonus, you and others are then less likely to die.
