My first report from Artsakh. The Azerbaijani servicemen who share disturbing torture and murder videos on social media aren't going rogue...they're part of a coordinated state effort to further terrify, traumatize, and displace the people of Artsakh.

  2. Turkish soldiers forced this widow in Atareb out of her house in Dec., are occupying it. "All I can do is move from place to place...Turkey has taken my house. I wish they would pay me for it, or get out of it." Also: Atareb is jointly controlled by Turkey and HTS (al Qaeda).

Side note: I'd reported the death of the Sultan Murad commander she's referencing in November. Turkey deployed him to Libya before Azerbaijan, I guess he made an impact, because even GNA militants in Tripoli were posting sad martyr pictures when he died.

Sister of a Syrian mercenary [Sultan Murad] killed in Azerbaijan. Her brother died alongside a well-known commander. She's living in a camp. He was in Azerbaijan for a month before being killed. They didn’t pay her. They didn’t pay a lot of the mercenaries who returned to Syria.

Regarding this Syrian mercenary and his Grey Wolves gesture: he’s a commander. Several of his relatives are, too. They’re like Syrian mercenary oligarchs...among the few in “free” areas enriched by the Turkish occupation. And for the average Syrian mercenary? (Short thread):

Azerbaijan launched a war of aggression during a global pandemic, characterized by ISIS-style beheadings, mutilations and kidnappings, and a parallel campaign of cultural cleansing, yet no concerned reader would realize it thanks to the false equivalencies of and others.

Imagine, this guy is literally one of the small fish, receiving 500k euros to reject a report. Imagine how many more of these are out there. The bigger fish.

More and more, Syrian mercenaries (of the Turkish-backed “Syrian National Army”) are posting pictures of themselves making the little grey wolf hand. It’s funny, because virtually every nationalistic TSK soldier I’ve spoken to has candidly said some iteration of “I hate Arap.”

This remark is something else. “That an Armenian remains alive and a citizen of Turkey is proof that Turkish people are tolerant.”

A woman messaged me to say, “you will die, slut” and Facebook restricted my account for sharing the message and a link to her profile. Me sharing her death threat was deemed “harassment and bullying.” I guess “you will die, slut,” wasn’t harassment. Just a friendly prediction.

Azerbaijani soldiers burn furniture inside (and outside) an Armenian home in Karabakh, and post a video of it. Guess this is what Aliyev meant when he said Azerbaijan would "revive and reinvigorate" Karabakh: burn stuff, smash stuff, cover stuff with graffiti.

Some glaring omissions: AZERBAIJAN: supplied 2k Syrian mercenaries LIBYA: supplied 15k Syrian mercenaries (10k of whom remain there, though combat paused in June) Turkey still denies their deployment to Azerbaijan, but Erdogan admitted to their presence in Libya.

Conditions under the so-called legitimate, UN-backed, Turkey and Qatar-driven Government of National Accord. Will Biden be more supportive of the GNA than his predecessor? He cheered Qaddafi's ousting in 2011, but claimed he was against the regime change adventure in 2016.
