But don't racialize poverty! We know that proportionately, more black and brown folks are in poverty, but in raw numbers, more white people are in poverty.

It’s journalistic malpractice to continually ask how we are going to pay for things we need to live—like healthcare, housing, food, & education—yet continually ignore how we are going to pay for things that destroy—like war.

We have a plan to cut $300 billion from the Pentagon, war and corporate war profiteers to fund Medicare for All.

Right here in 2020: still debating the Iraq war, and still talking about who does or doesn’t think a woman could win the presidency (or, the electoral college).

No one should say we can’t afford the things we need, and no one should say we must pay for endless war. My new piece.

We have to say it again & again & again. There can be no conversation about immigration from Central America without interrogating the role that the history of US imperialism has played in destabilizing the social, economic, & political foundations of those countries. Period.

Think they’ll ask about this in tonight’s debate? It’s time for some more serious debate about our foreign policy.

My No First Use bill would make clear that no American President, and certainly not Donald Trump, should have the power to launch a first use nuclear first strike absent such an attack without explicit Congressional approval.

This blows me away. We need people to understand just how badly we’re blowing it, what could have been, and what we need to do differently starting now (or in 2020, whichever comes first).

The Senate steamrolled ahead today with a whopping $750 billion version of the National Defense Authorization Act (), which sets the Pentagon budget. Just months ago, President Trump said the military's current $716 billion was "crazy."
