Has anyone found any distinctions between a tantrum & a meltdown? (No promises on whither or not this will be my last post in relation to meltdowns, I apologize in advance

They're involuntary. Unlike tantrums, which can be thrown to manipulate others' behavior, meltdowns cannot be thrown intentionally.

They don’t stop until they stop. Nothing you can do — no amount of Ativan or Haldol or hugs (no fucking hugs) or weighted blankets — will stop it.

I've seen a lot of back & forth on the topic of hugs. It's mostly assumed that folk want to be held during a meltdown, but many autistics would rather not be touched. While there are some who may prefer to be held..although I haven't heard personally from those folk yet.
