Spent a good share of last two days re-watching some of my favorite #DoctorWho episodes, that I realized I've not interacted with humans.
Dean Blunt's lo-fi record "Black Metal" is easily one of the most underrated albums of 2014. Blurs more genre boundaries than anything else.
1 favoriteAnyways,I haven't caught up with all of Capaldi's episodes yet.Not entirely sure what to make of him yet.Loving Clara this season though! <3
A vulnerability which he eventually learns to embrace as he regenerates into Tennant's more eccentric & goofy Doctor, who hides them better.
By having a Doctor who is more emotionally fragile & wears them on his sleeve, it gave Ecclestone's Doctor a rare degree of vulnerability.
2 favoritesAlso agree with the interpretation that Ecclestone's more serious, less goofy Doctor was written as a bridge for his recovery from Time War.
1 favoriteIt largely has to do with how different Ecclestone's Doctor is and how perfectly it fits within the constrained arc of reviving the series.
1 favoriteRewatching Chris Ecclestone's #DoctorWho season and my opinion of the Ninth Doctor grows favorable with every episode.
Final mini-essay for this "season" is on Settlers of Catan & its mechanics representing bits of colonial imperialism. http://lightnarcissus.com/2014/12/26/settlers-catan/ …
Reading @AllieBrosh’s Hyperbole and a Half while drunk and realizing truths at a rate that is clearly not gonna be good for me.
UKIP leader, Nigel Farage as Times' "Brit of the Year".No wonder, they intend to keep foreigners away from UK *and* from their rubbish paper.

Like how certain childhood memories hazed by passage of time seem almost fictitious and made-up. Their nature almost completely malleable.
Despite the fact that both Blankets & Boyhood's protagonists grow up in an environment and culture(America) that is alien to me.
1 favoriteRealized that Craig Thompson's graphic novel "Blankets" reminds me of Boyhood in many ways. The universal themes of growing up are relatable
1 favoriteToday's mini-essay is on Half-Life and how of its breakthroughs in merging the player identity with character http://lightnarcissus.com/2014/12/25/half-life/ …
1 retweetWatched the Iranian vampire film, "A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night". Solid debut feature & overall good minimalist mix of Western & gothic.
Wrote a mini-essay on Super Mario 64 and how its oft-praise level design comes with its own set of problems. http://lightnarcissus.com/2014/12/24/super-mario-64/ …
