That said, worth noting that calling a sidechain an L2 is contested: twitter.com/gakonst/status I tend to agree with Georgios here, and only consider a protocol an L2 if the peg-out is enforced by mainchain consensus rules. Lightning meets that criteria, federated 2WP does not.
