I confronted a driver who flew through a stop sign right in front of us that they were driving too fast. they replied that they were only going 15. like somehow blowing a stop sign at 15 is ok?

And with this, SPOG members have sent a clear message. For those of us who support policing with a greater emphasis on de-escalation, rehabilitation over draconian punishment, and a focus on community-collaboration to reduce recidivism, the message isn't good.

“Diverse editions of these books” HAVING PERSON OF COLOR ON A COVER DOESN’T MAGICALLY MAKE THE ACTUAL STORY IN THE BOOK DIVERSE omg We are not a “promotion.” We are not just a fad. JUST PUBLISH MARGINALIZED VOICES IT’S NOT THAT HARD.

BTW, I say that I hit him with my bike, but that is not true--not even sure why or how I said it. I just slapped my mittened hand down. You can't even really hear it in the audio.

I was considering not reporting to Lyft because I don't really want to be responsible for someone losing livelihood. But watching it made me realize this person needs to do better if they are going to continue driving car share.

Okay, I uploaded the video. I hate hearing my own voice... it's so squeaky.

Because Black Lives Matter, we can not just sit and watch a movie, we must act. We must look for barriers so we can bust them, we must look allies so we can be them, and we must act with courage towards justice for all.

The bus stop is only a problem because SDOT nixed the original plans for floating island bus stops (i.e. safe) cause neighborhood obstructionists trying to block the bike lanes claimed world would end if they couldn't dangerously speed around stopped buses.

All in all, I feel good about it. That's not always the case. Maybe I levelled up?

Later he dove back into the bike lane, maybe to cut me off? But I just calmly rode around him and he was stuck there by other vehicles.

Shout out to the person at the intersection who stood up for me. You rock.

He then followed me with his window down for several blocks calling me all sorts of names I won't repeat, telling me I had no right to touch his car.

Today in biking adventures, I slapped a Lyft driver's car with my heavily mittens hand because he was parked in the bike lane on 65th. There was a lot of traffic and it felt unsafe to have to go around him uphill.

Hi-viz clothing has no effect on driver passing distances. The researchers suggest that improvements to infrastructure are a more effective means of improving rider safety than changing clothing habits.

This is your regular reminder that the city refuses to provide trash pickup or restrooms for unsheltered people, then celebrates the weight of the trash they pick up in bulk (some of it dumped there by housed people) as if they're doing an amazing job.

Washington has a new Safe Passing Law! The law protects vulnerable road users by requiring that drivers change lanes or slow down and give three feet when passing folks walking and wheeling

Let's keep this momentum going! Lots that could happen between now and then, and we need to stay vocal in standing up for bikers, pedestrians, and transit riders

Thank you for helping to keep the memory of Andy Hulslander alive and, in doing so, reminding us why protected bike lanes on both and 15th Ave NE are important for a safe and complete transportation system.
