in restorative practices we understand that if one member of our community is not well, the entire community will feel it. and so we do the work to ensure that we are all well.

the western world will always struggle through any pandemic / epidemic because folks lack an understanding of community + collectivism. the emphasis is placed on self-preservation with no regard for others. it’s as if there’s not a whole thing called human ecology.

been thinking about this a lot. especially in the US, people will basically call you a fascist for asking them to think about other people. any discussion of universal healthcare will highlight exactly what's wrong with us but i don't know how to fix it

Well... ironically... this could very well be a tipping point. The problem is tho, it will likely already be too late for tens, or even hundreds, of thousands of people.
