Hugpong ng Pagbabago's candidate for Davao del Sur is Jason Rama Bautista. In 2019, HnP bet Joseph Peñas lost to Gov Douglas Cagas. Douglas' son Marc, then vice governor, became governor when the patriarch died last June 2021. Rama-Bautista runs vs Marc's wife Yvonne.
