So, I tested positive for Covid-19 last week, even though I’m fully vaccinated. Consider this a PSA that “breakthrough cases” are uncommon but not freakishly rare — my doctor in Manhattan told me I was the third one she’d seen in 2 weeks.
I am mostly fine at this point — my symptoms seem to be winding down, aside from congestion and fatigue. It’s been unpleasant. Getting Covid while vaccinated, for me at least, felt like the flu. If you feel like you’ve got a bad cold or flu, go get tested!
Also, another thing to note: at no point did I have the most famous symptoms of Covid. It did not attack my lungs, and I never lost my sense of taste or smell. I got tested out of an abundance of caution — even the doctor who tested me said he thought it wasn’t COVID. But it was.

The vaccine kept you from having serious disease. It did it’s job.

Oof! Glad you’re feeling better. My husband’s aunt had a breakthrough case as well. Lost her sense of smell for a while but otherwise not terrible.
