We must frame future problems of the world, not with a mindset of scarcity, but one of abundance where we all stand to gain more from each other cooperating together. With climate change, economic uncertainty, and numerous other challenges, we must confront this now.

In the 1960s and 1970s Austria played a key role for discussions/arbiter in the East-West debate, a role that disappeared after the fall of the Soviet Union. Many of the same Austrian institutions (IIASA is an example) could play a role in the new East-West debate
