One thing I've been trying to do with https://www.handsonscala.com  is to make sure it looks *good*. Syntax highlighting, backgrounds, font weights, 2D layouts, all to make it a joy to read both colored-on-screen and greyscale-in-print. No more endless walls of black-and-white text!pic.twitter.com/s8MsENOjOe

That does indeed look great. May I ask how you’ve made the data structure diagrams, by hand or by tool (and in the latter case, which tool)?

the diagrams are just raw Graphviz/dot. A bit finnicky but not bad for a plaintext diagramming format, and with some fiddling it can look pretty nice

Nice to see beautifully presented and explained trees. This is something I'm studying recently in a spare lockdown time:https://github.com/arturopala/scala-tree …

I could find the hard copy on the site. Is this online only?

It looks amazing! Now tell me you used an App written in Scala to edit the book? 😊

Looks very nice. Now the content piqued my interest. What is the name for a true that also stores the suffixes? As I quickly edited for one branch in the picture. Are there algorithms for that as well? What if it can remember shared mid-segments?pic.twitter.com/LGfvkxtwNT

You can’t share mid segments, but a Trie with shared prefixes and also shared suffixes is called a DAFSA
