The Biden admin has so far been significantly more friendly to progressive pressure on substantive policy issues than Obama was when he came into office. It's not even close, and a little wild how the media told us the opposite and got it so wrong.

For sure. Though this FDR talk is pumping WAY too much air in the tires.

Probably. But one could also look at that sort of talk as a carrot to go along with the stick.

To be fair there was no indication he would do this, he was picked as VP by Obama as a sop to white conservatives

On the other hand, it wasn't entirely unpredictable. Biden has always put himself in the party's middle through its decades-long reconfigurations. It just happens that the center is much more progressive (on certain issues) than in previous times. Many underestimated that.

Then we shouldn’t squander the opportunity to keep pressuring more.

Who cares if zero gets done by either? Seems like a PR campaign to pacify and slow defection.

So he should be. He said he would be a president for all. He doesn’t get a cookie for that. Although, what has being friendly actually resulted in for progressives? M4A? $15 min wage?

Biden is backing a 15 min wage right now....

This is true, also true that Biden campaigned as if indifferent to more democratic pressures and Obama campaigned as a progressive.

Obama, who kept name dropping Reagan, ran as a progressive?
