Public school teachers occasionally engage in predatory behavior like molesting kids. Imagine if in reaction to these isolated scandals, the far right burned down schools, called for defunding/abolishing public education, leading GOP officials endorsed that movement.
Teachers, like cops, consistently rank among the most respected and liked professions in America. Both suffer from underfunding and poor training, leading to abuses, and both have strong unions that have fought attempts to crack down on predators within their ranks.
If the other teachers protected the molesters and made sure they went unpunished and continued to work as teachers then I could see that happening.

A very dishonest false equivalency. Police brutality is not 'isolated' but is a pattern. Teachers don't have qualified immunity, they don't kill unarmed people, they don't use chemical weapons against peaceful protestors, they don't destroy evidence or plant guns on victims.
Also, the far right does call on defunding schools. They are actively doing it. They're defunding the EPA. They're defunding arts. They're defunding social services. And social safety nets. And Social Security. But if you say defund the leading agent of overt systemic racism...
