I am out and about wearing a dress that I really like but it has no pockets and honestly how is one expected to function at a reasonable level.

Although I probably should have stated that I was looking for London based, or those who could easily get to London.

I've written a new piece on A Day Well Spent. I've only ever told a handful of people about this IRL over the years, usually to the response of 'What! I didn't even know that was a thing?!' It sure is and I do it daily. Sometime twice. shorturl.at/wBEU5

Twitter people: please could you tell me the people in media I need to know about (if I don't already) covering wine - wine journalists, wine writers, digital creators. It's for a thing - thank you so much 🍷

A female GPS-tracked falcon flew from South Africa to Finland. In 42 days she flew over 10,000 km. That's 230 km per day. What have you achieved in the last 42 days? Source: buff.ly/3ArE2eq

This is not a falcon, but a European honey buzzard named "Päivi." The map shows her migration from South Africa to Finland April 15-June 1, 2015. Päivi received her transmitter at her nest in Vesilahti, Finland on August 13, 2013, and was last tracked in May 2019. luomus.fi/en/satellite-h… satelliitti.laji.fi/?lang=en&id=JX…

And here is a bumblebee drinking from the pond which has been like a Serengeti watering hole over the past few weeks of drought. Amazing to see all critters drinking from it from birds to insects to mammals to the neighbour's cat.

Two sourdough bangers. It is the greatest food stuff in the world (Ok apart from cheese and wine) and I still can't believe I can make it. Freshly milled spelt, emmer and mulika wheat and some pre-milled strong white. So freaking tasty.

These have risen so well in the fridge overnight, they almost look like they've already been baked! Now into the oven, adding a tray of boiling water for steam. Will be eating for lunch 👌

30g of starter (that had been in the fridge since last bake) added to rye flour last night. Kept in coolest room in the house and it's risen beautifully overnight from elastic band mark. It's now ready to use in my dough.

There's a recipe on the Instagram account for fudgy brownies and they are really good, second time I've made them. Ingredients: black beans (used red aduki today), beetroot, egg, olive oil, dark choc, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder. Added hazelnuts & swirled tahini

That tall green stem in the centre of this pic is the flowering stem of chard, now taller than the apple trees. While it flowers and produces seeds for future sowing, I'll be training beans to grow up it. Like the indigenous 'three sisters' setup but chard instead of corn

Big old planting out weekend. All beans, summer squashes, winter squashes and kale now in the ground, joining the tomatoes and sweetcorn. Plastic bottles are so good at keeping plants warm and snails out - pays to rummage through the neighbour's recycling bin.

Famously, Socrates was found guilty of corrupting the youth of Athens in 399BC and executed by the forced consumption of hemlock. Which kills you by stopping the nervous system from working properly which can lead to suffocation. Lovely!
