Here's my conversation with Stephen Kotkin, a historian of Stalin, Russia, the Soviet Union, and Eastern Europe. He provides a hard-hitting response to the Oliver Stone conversation, and details his perspective on Putin, Zelenskyy, and the war in Ukraine. youtube.com/watch?v=2a7CDK

Lex- encourage you to add a brief bullet point synopsis, so we can choose to hear it out or not, and allot time for it. Think of time constraints and scope of interests. Your podcasts are gems. Help your audience to narrow down choices.

I couldn't bring myself to finish listening to this. Kotkin's reputation has been severely diminished in my eyes by many of the disingenuous arguments he presents here. Disappointed

A good podcaster asks the critical questions the listener wants to ask while listening. Which you almost always do!
But in this conversation it felt like a lot of questions weren't asked. You just let him talk a lot.
I hope this tweet is useful in some way! #criticizewithlove ❤️

when he mentioned Hongkong is Ukraine, he lost all credibility to have any geopolitical opinion! He needs to study history in great detail. Wikipedia doesn’t count

This was THE most accurate review of the #UkraineRussianWar as well as the only solution for the #Democracy in the world to prevail. 80 years later "Hitler" is back except now in #Russia. It evolves fast. Unlike Germany in 1939/80MM Russia is 2X larger #Awareness. Thank you both!
