My parents vote @LibDems in locals. Have done for years. Always @Conservatives in General Elections.
They are as passionately pro-Leave as they come. No way on earth would their vote be a protest for Remain.

Conservative here who has voted Lib Dem for first time in St Albans (Verulam). Largely due to Conservatives’ anti-business Brexit policy (ie that we should go through with Brexit). So yes protest vote for RemIn.

Worth remembering a smaller result for anti-EU parties caused the then government to announce the referendum.

Sort of? Cameron called it to persuade UKIP voters to shift to Tory. And it worked as they got an overall majority. But who knows, the reverse can happen...?
