Feels like authenticity is a measure of how little you are intentionally misrepresenting yourself - but this isn't a very useful metric if you are unconsciously bullshitting yourself. I'd rather talk about integrity and consistency than authenticity.

Authenticity is a measure of unintentional misrepresentation as well. If there is some incongruence between your words and your body language, it will be noticed by others even if you aren’t aware of it yourself.

Some people are very good at presenting what other ppl want to interact with. They often get into middle age before noticing this about themselves, that there is no "core" self. But other people don't notice this, bc they like being shown what they want to see.

Sure, there’s ease & comfort at times for both parties in “just following the script”. The flip side is, the best way to test someone’s real range is to go off script.
