Honestly, they should have showed that video on the screen instead of actually throwing ball on stage. They could've said that it's safety concern, heavy steel ball might bounce back to audience and nobody would ever doubt it

This is a good point. Although I think back to the Solar Tile video demo of the hail shooting at the various roofing materials. They took stick as the Tesla tile had different orientation. Live window demo might have seemed like a better option esp. if confident.
