Yep, I try to do that at my best and I think I'm 80% same. Internet is a bit exaggerated but not a lot. I think we both saw we're pretty much same when we met IRL. But people online MAKE you different when they talk about you

Yeah, totally. I think once you meet (like we did) IRL, then it gives some context. So for that other 20% discrepancy, it's just no big deal, and we can account for it... due to it just being the internet

I read somewhere that on social media we often compare our inner critic to other people’s lifetime highlights. Maybe that’s one reason why we have such high, unrealistic expectations of others. Also, maybe people get emotionally invested in their idea of who they think you are.

Yeah I get that. I'm quite like that within other offline "communities" too. There are things I'd say in front of my friends that I wouldn't say in front of my parents. Online (at least non-anonymously) you have one YOU, I think IRL we are more fragmented.
