Suppose postmodernism is false; then a large fraction of humanities and sociology academia has been taken over by a form of intellectual fraud, and we should be skeptical of the metanarratives of our society. How ironic; how postmodern.

people are always like "teleporters just vaporize you and create a clone of you at the destination" as if that's some big horrifying problem and yet that's how an elevator works and everyone's just fine with that 😑

I want to see simulated emergency scenarios where candidates are in situation rooms, trying to integrate complex, partly unreliable information in real time, and making tough decisions given ethically troubling trade-offs. Same scenarios, filmed separately for each candidate.

The reason it's called The Legend Of Zelda is because it's not real. It didn't actually happen. That's why they don't call it The Legend Of Mario. That was a historical event that occurred in the 80s.

What norm, habit, type of person, or 'common' experience that you consciously agree exists, there's evidence that it does and other people say it does, but you've never actually seen it happen yourself? Bonus points if deep down your gut just doesn't believe it.

Effective altruist arrested for stealing mummified corpse of Jeremy Bentham. During trial, the court learned of the suspect’s plan to sell the corpse on eBay, and spend the money on mosquito nets. After deliberating, the jury found the defendant not guilty by reason of insanity.

Enough of the "Whale Fucking is non-consensual" bullshit. A Humpback Whale weighs 70,000 pounds, is fifty feet long, can dive more than a quarter mile and can crush ships with a single swipe of its tail. If a human manages to fuck one, you damn well better believe it's consensual
