It's World Wetlands Day, celebrating the vital roles of fens, marshes, bogs, swamps, deltas, mangroves, as water-keepers, carbon-storers, flood-slowers, life-makers... Tell me the best writing you know about these overlooked & threatened places. 📷Engel9

I'll be on Watters World Saturday evening the 25th for a few minutes. It might be viewable online later. I don't think he agrees with the VHEMT concept.

Will Earth's biosphere be healthier when we go extinct? Biodiversity is a measure of the strength of an ecosystem, and we're greatly diminishing it. Non-procreation is pro-human and pro-Nature.

So nice of The Guardian to let me tell my story with mostly my own words. I wrote "cut rate vasectomy" it was changed to "discounted".

“We strongly believe artificial light at night – in combination with habitat loss, chemical pollution, invasive species, and climate change – is driving insect declines. It is another important – but often overlooked – bringer of the insect apocalypse.”

Last week at the , governments and organisations gathered to reconfirm their commitment to women and girls and to realise the promises made 25 years ago. Read our reflections from the summit:

Ignoring human population pressures while focusing on consumption lacks class consciousness. More than half of humanity is struggling to increase their consumption, just to survive. With fewer of us being born, we might better care for existing members of our human family.

The battle over birth: should we stop having children? Asks, “Should we be focusing on how to teach a younger generation how to invent and innovate solutions to climate change, rather than avoiding it through impoverishing their own lives?” Huh?

The Globe and Mail reports on Emma Lim's pledge: Natalist opposition is predictable and could add to existing anxiety and depression. Congratulations to the caring people who have pledged not to procreate.

Younger people making the ethical choice to forego creating new humans. Procreation today is the moral equivalent of selling berths on a sinking ship. “I pledge not to have children until I am sure my government will ensure a safe future for them.”

Death Hangout, a podcast about life, interviewed me about the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement. Although VHEMT advocates for fewer deaths, we'll all find our way there in the end. 27 min.

Much like awareness of the climate crisis, awareness of the environmental impacts of creating more of us is rapidly progressing. However, most media hasn’t caught up with the times, as reports.

No wonder politicians fear defending reproductive freedom or connecting climate crisis to human population size. Sanders is accused of wanting to, “back US funding for Third World abortions, birth control as part of climate plan,” “abort poor babies for population control,” etc.

A short podcast sharing the VHEMT concept includes the common misconception that Australia's population is only increasing by immigration. Their natural increase is 110,000 and immigration is 127,000.
