House Democrats’ first major effort will be to provide matching public money for small donations to political campaigns, which would be transformativehttps://theintercept.com/2018/12/02/public-campaign-finance-hr1/ …

$50 for every voting age adult is $12.5B. It's about 2x as much as spent by both Presidential campaigns in 2016.
-
But that's for every federal election - house, senate and presidential. Seems a bit small to me at this point given how much was spent in prior elections. And what about state elections? Is there a provision for those as well?
-
I didn't think about Congress. I don't think state and local races are part of the federal plan. Seattle did their own with a property tax I think.
-
Correct, Seattle did their own plan. We get (4) $25 vouchers, and can assign them as desired. There are requirements of candidates so they qualify, but I like the program so far - available once so far.
-
My point above is that there *should* be a provision for state and local races too! There is just as much (dark) money floating into these races as national races, and they are every bit as important!
