#Russia's most important achievement in #Syria is that it safeguarded the structure of the state and its institutions. And it is through this structure, and through these institutions that the state can reclaim the rest of #Syria. @O_Rich_ @ejmalrai

This is not about #Assad. This is not about the regime. It is about the structure of the state, the skeleton needed to keep Syrian society together, services, army, international presence, legality, etc... #Russia achieved this and prevented another Libya. @O_Rich_ @ejmalrai

It was unavoidable that #Syria was going to have these competing zones of influence after a brutal war that nearly everybody, regionally and internationally, participated in. However, the structure of the state and Syrian society are both intact. This is a remarkable achievement.
