Listen. I am showing that when you control for violent crime rate, the disparity vanishes. That means that whatever disparity exists in total pop or total arrests is not due to race.

If there is no bias when comparing violent crime arrests vs killed, how can you possibly claim racial bias anywhere else without examining 3rd and 4th variables?
Killings vs arrest of violent crime suspects is where we should see the MOST bias if police are killing black people.

This thinking is incorrect but I'm seeing it a lot. The point is to control for violent crime rate because the hypothesis here is the violent crime rate is what causes the disparity, not racial bias. The fact that the disparity disappears supports that

One more point. Some are saying, "but what about non-violent crime."
The deaths include ALL shooting deaths. Presumably, police consider anyone they shoot (rightly or wrongly) to be a violent crime suspect. I realize that doesn't include George Floyd but that doesn't matter.

The point is that when you stack all shooting deaths up against violent crime arrests, there is no significant disparity between races. And white people are actually slightly more likely to be killed.
I still haven't heard a good explanation for this.

2019 WaPo Fatal Force Database:
- 6.3% of black suspects killed were unarmed (15/236)
- 6.6% of white suspects killed were unarmed (25/376)

Last year 19 white people were unarmed, 9 black people were unarmed.
So 5.1% of white people killed were unarmed (19 out of 370) and 3.8% of black suspects killed were unarmed (9 out of 235)
