The biggest threat posed by xenophobic grifters who have hijacked discourse and prevent serious analysis of all harm Putin’s government really inflicts, is their intellectual inferiority in comparison with rather mediocre people who run the Kremlin. Losers are dangerous.

The issue is who started this joint venture? Russia or the west? Every action gets reaction. Russian media has beeen bombing west with hate for over 5 years now. Roll back mr Kyseliev shows and his videos of russian rockets destroying US and Europe.

Many in Russia would counter your tweet by remarking that Russia actually rolled back, to use your terminology, and radically, even from end of 1980s and onwards, i.e. Soviet times, and see what did it get from USA & Western Europe, i.e. not much. And they would have a point.

You still have yet to give evidence of this wide spread Russophobia. No Russian Americans facing discrimination, blowback, etc. Yes among Twitterati some went overboard and that NYT editorial was whack but those are outliers. I don't see it.

Is Russophobia supposed to refer to any criticism of the Kremlin? Sounds like a pretty broad term to equate criticism with phobia. I would think most people do not blame the bad actions of the Kremlin on the Russian people.
