Ask anyone who has lived there long enough and they will tell you SFPOA pins their ineptitude and laziness on every successive DA. Every time we try to force them to do their job they fight it with great success (for them). They regularly make $400k/yr, they can do their job.

I've lived here for 26 years and we have never run the experiment that
@chesaboudin is running right now, charging/convicting virtually no one. He did run on this premise, and we are now seeing the direct results. and no, Police aren't great either.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -
Explain your take on Prop R and why SFPD were against it. If they have no interest in making arrests, what can the DA do?https://ballotpedia.org/San_Francisco,_California,_Neighborhood_Crime_Unit_Creation,_Proposition_R_(November_2016) …

Property crime is bad, that's undeniable. Violent crime has been trending down and SF has less of it than 54 other major cities.

Per capita, SF's violent crime is actually stilll pretty bad but we are a tiny city so the #'s are small. Quality of life has plummeted in the last 2 years and definitely ain't improving with Chesa policies. https://www.neighborhoodscout.com/ca/san-francisco/crime …

And correlation with whatever the DA is doing in no way implies causation. SFPD is immediately let off the hook in every discussion. They refuse to do foot patrols or respond to calls for theft and many other things. Many have stopped calling bc they won't respond.

You think the SFPD is currently staffed to do foot patrols everywhere needed? LOL. Sounds like you are arguing for hiring more police. Your talking points are getting mixed up.

Foot patrols instead of sitting in their cruisers. Just as they did during the last mayoral election which I've already covered. Additional info on staffing and funds has been covered in the other links I posted. Here they are again, for your convenience:

Also, additional info on Prop R. BOS can also enact these policies by simple majority:https://www.spur.org/voter-guide/san-francisco-2016-11/prop-r-neighborhood-crime-unit …
