Crime is down since he's taken office. Takes a big man to go with the "sins of the father" narrative though.https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/06/14/bogus-backlash-against-progressive-prosecutors/ …7 replies 0 retweets 22 likes -

Burglary and theft are way up and gascon was almost as bad boudin. Not sure how you can look at what this guy did and his criminal history and think he should be on the streets

Because we have the largest prison population in the world by a huge margin. Both in gross and per capita numbers. It has done no good and only destroyed more lives. If locking people up worked we would be leading the world in criminal justice and low crime. We're neither.

Of course, nobody thinks criminals like that should be on the street, but if you look at the data and crime trends you can get a more clear picture. We’re a nation that’s governed by rule of law and due process. Will crime still happen?

Of course, it always will, but we can do better. Addressing crime at the cause is far more effective than relying on prisons to solve the issue because they currently do not do a good job of that. Clearly. We can and should do better.
