I have zero issue with that penalty. The Souths player was a statue. If it wasn't intentional, McInnes would've avoided passing the ball into him.
I don't agree with the rule. But the decision in my opinion, given that rule, was fair enough.

The lead runner trains to receive the ball as flat as possible, if the hooker has to change his line of pass to avoid an offside player in the ruck, he probably ends up throwing a forward pass 6/10 times. Bullshit call that probably cost saints the game . They were robbed

You shouldn't be rolling the dice on a 50/50 situation like that though. Safe is best. If only refs could've continued their ruck crackdown all year, things would've gone differently there.

Hardly 50/50- It’s more like a 90/10 harsh AF pen there against the team in possession. How can the ref make a definitive call as to the intent of McInnes in that situation? It’s too late for saints, but I guarantee it will see a rule change for that exact situation in future

RL doesn't deal in 90/10's. Only dead certs and 50/50's. I hate that refs are being made to determine a players intent. Only one person knows if there's intent, and they will generally deny it.
