We don’t live in the land of IF. Two innocent women are actually dead now & Hanako Abe arrived from Japan to collect her daughter. Please engage with a wider circle of people in closer proximity. This is a rabbit hole that continually feeds itself and thrives on sheer nonsense.

We’re all in big trouble. Emotion and lack of logic has run our city for decades. One cannot question the narrative on a multitude of issues - crime and homelessness just to name two - without being excoriated. I’m not right because they’re dead. They’re dead because of ideology.

Chesa’s decarceration zealotry - even irrespective of the pandemic - means that more Troy McAlisters will be hitting the streets. Arrested five times since being on parole (not probation) and not a single charge from the DA. Why? Passed the buck to the parole office. Five times.

That’s not leadership. Nor is it public safety. Mens Rea is real, it’s not just an ethereal concept. Crime and its associated costs - to victims, the City and its image and yes, to perpetrators - is real. It hollows civic trust, erodes confidence in police and the justice system.
