Selling fentanyl doesn't create a risk of great bodily harm? Two fatal ODs per day in our city show it does.

But the individual arrest is not going to alter the availability of illicit drugs for sale. Both the bulk supplier and the individual user are likely to continue. It makes no difference whatsoever whether these drug purveyors are held and its dangerous to do so.

Nonsense. The objective is to hold many drug dealers, not just a few. And the danger to them from Covid-19 in jail is much less than the danger their product poses to others. Additionally, we need to start with those at the bottom and work out way up the food chain.

How about the danger that the medical authorities emphasize, that holding them in jail poses more danger to others than releasing them in this moment of pandemic? Our
@SF_DPH recommended Chesa free another 235, you care which ones? 600 person jail population was recommended/8351 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Did DPH look at the ODs the dealers caused and will continue to cause? I'm guessing not.

Well that's definitely a conversation to be had with the
@SF_DPH , but as for Chesa they've asked him, and he's committed to release another 235 people, do you have opinions on which ones he should let go?2 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

DA Boudin committing to release prisoners for just about any reason is kind of a given at this point. ;-)

The “crisis” at San Quentin, Paul, was largely self-inflicted. Chesa’s zealotry of decarceration would exist with or without the pandemic.

The state bussed in people with with coronavirus or unknown status. Irredeemably dumb. Chesa would still be a zealot for releasing inmates without the pandemic, this is his raison d’être. Because he was brought up to think of his dad as a political prisoner, not a criminal.
