From 2014 through Q1 2020, Black pple in SF were 4.4 times more likely to be stopped while driving than whites. These data are one reason why, in early 2020, I implemented a policy not to charge cases of contraband found during racist, pretextual stops.https://sfist.com/2020/09/15/data-shows-black-people-pulled-over-by-sf-cops-disproportionately/ …

Do you have to prove the stop was “pretextual” and racist? Or is just one metric sufficient? What if an illegal weapon is found? Does it get returned?

Yes, it should be evidence based and reasonable, always. We can assume whatever we want but the current DA’s zealotry, disposition and outlook isn’t wise or reasonable.

We don’t know what “most voters” think b/c ranked choice voting, so he won by fewer than 3000 votes & in the 3rd round, with 50.8%. SF doesn’t have “mass incarceration”, but it does have squalid areas of un-prosecuted crimes and drug dealing like the TL & the human misery there.

It has little to do with me or what my friends think.
I grew up in Oakland, and SF problems were baked in back then, and generations of politicians - our current gov - pledged to fix them decades ago. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Jim Jones had tons of local support too, FWIW. How’s that?3 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

Tell me what this city does even remotely well? Gavin bailed for Sac the 1st opportunity he had, and never looked back, like supervisors have as well. Other than pontificating, what is Chesa good for? Not prosecuting anything.
