So sorry chef. I
your restaurant & wish we could do more to support businesses like yours. What I cannot do is jail people because of their addiction or double down on the failed war on drugs. We need to make it easier to get help than it is to get high in SF.

In fact, the DA's office filed felony charges in more than 80% of the car break in cases where police made arrests in 2019.

Felony implies Grand Theft Auto and not break in? Misleading info doesn't increase trust

Nothing misleading in what I said. An auto burglary (car break in with intent to steal) is either a misdemeanor or a felony in the discretion of the charging department and we almost always charge them as felonies.

Distinction would be break in (intent to steal items in car) VS auto burglary (intent to steal whole car) Did DA charge ~80% felonies for the 2289 (336 auto theft + 1953 theft from vehicle) Jan 2019 cases? If so -> not misleading If not -> misleadingpic.twitter.com/LkxUQoWJiS
