This Lancet editorial appears to believe that children have their sex assigned to them at birth. It also suggests that children who have developed unhappiness over their maturing bodies should be lied to that they can be another sex. https://qako.me/2KtPYq5

This is batshit, confused, ideological, regressive, sexist nonsense being written at the heart of medicine. I suggest that silence is no longer an option.

Its true. Have you never seen the process for assigning a child's birth gender? It's based on the latest trans-sciencepic.twitter.com/XLx0OoYRey

Ideology infiltrates science. This ideology is harming many children & teens.

Maybe you and I read a different text, but I dont come to the same conclusion as you. Care to elaborate what triggers you?

It literally says 'sex assigned at birth”. It is literally suggesting that children with psychological body dysphoria are medicalised with hormone treatments to alter their natural development.

And a @newscientist article this week: How to think about gender "AT FIRST it seems straightforward. After a brief inspection of its genitals, a baby is assigned a gender." Bizarre.

The whole ideology is topsy turvy - as if sex is somehow an arbitrary construct you are assigned - and that ‘gender identity’ is some immutable and innate quality that has to be discovered. Absolutely barking - and its infiltrating mainstream discourse.

The full text says "sex assigned at birth" - thought to be whichever sex and raised accordingly. We all know sex is determined in utero don't we? https://www.rch.org.au/uploadedFiles/Main/Content/adolescent-medicine/australian-standards-of-care-and-treatment-guidelines-for-trans-and-gender-diverse-children-and-adolescents.pdf …

I thought it was determined at conception.
