Historic week of fuckery at the Supreme Court, striking serious blows against women's reproductive freedoms, immigrants & refugees from "shithole" countries, and workers' abilities to organize and bargain collectively. It's a damn trifecta of gender, race, and class subjugation.

has 2 fronts: 1 complains about violence tho no one has laid a finger on them or their money; this authorizes the gun lobby to perpetuate the threat of real violence in response. has 1 front: it apologizes for using big words; promises to go higher & higher.

The pearl industry must love mainstream liberals. I have never seen a group of people so afraid to openly possess their convictions. This is a malaise of privilege. Argue until it's time to fight at which point it morphs into time to fall on swords and compromise.

If you seriously don't understand how calls for "civility" were historically used by the powers-that-be to shut down protests, you should really read Bill Chafe's excellent study of the civil rights movement in Greensboro.

Seems to me part of the problem is that the salutary word 'developed' is so easily combined in a sentence with 'most unequal'.
