Last night, my stepfather had a #HeartAttack. (HE’S FINE.)
For 
awareness:
1. He had NO chest pain.
2. He had indigestion-like and arms/shoulders/jaw pain.
3. Call an ambulance if you think you’re having a heart attack. Do NOT drive/be driven. As the EMT said: TIME = TISSUE

If you have ANY combination of: shortness of breath, sweating, arm/jaw shoulder pain, pressure, paleness, weakness, extreme exhaustion, nausea, numbness in hands or arms.....that could be a heart attack! Call ems, don’t wait, DONT SLEEP IT OFF. Glad he is ok. -
FYI: cath lab nurse. Just to be 100% clear....if we ask if you have any chest pain, ALL OF THOSE SYMPTOMS FALL UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF CHEST PAIN. So any combination of 2 or more...is chest pain. 90 minutes is the window of opportunity for a major heart attack.

There is a story from about 20 years ago where the head of the national Cardiology association was found dead in this hotel room at their annual meeting of a heart attack. He was holding a bottle of antacids. The MOST prevalent sign of a heart attack is DENIAL!

I hope he is recovering well. I believe having aspirin on hand at home is always a good idea as well. I have read about instances where taking aspirin has helped greatly. With atypical symptoms though, it can be very difficult to recognize.
