When is female circumcision needed for medical reasons? More like WHERE is female circumcision medicalized... In parts of Asia doctors do the same thing to baby girls and boys just like we do to boys here in the USA, the doctors claim the same health benefits and STD prevention.

I know. There is no reason for either think about it. Take all the time you need think equality. Think about how men are being pressured into it by doctors and how people are forced by their peers into having their genitals cut to avoid being thrown out of the tribe.

I used to work in the urology department of a hospital where they regularly performed circumcisions for a number of perfectly reasonable medical reasons such as painful erections and repeat infections. No one was pressured into having one. They were just offered it

Once again no reason for circumcision there’s a little plastic device on the Internet that fixes all those problems. Any other issue can be fixed with anabiotic’s. If you know anything about medicine you should be able to grasp what I’m saying.

I grasp it. It just doesn’t work for everyone and plenty of people choose circumcision as a definitive option. Why would you want to take that choice away from people?

Listen lady I was mutilated as an infant and during puberty I had such tight erections my dick would bleed and I couldn’t even take a shower sometimes because the wounds on my shaft would sting so bad, now at 25 I have sensitivity issues from the cut and am having to restore.

And that’s why doing that to infants is totally wrong. I agree with you there. I just know that, performed on adults with full knowledge and consent, it works well to fix certain issues. Banning it would remove that choice from men and I don’t think that’s fair

Under our health system, surgery is always the last line of treatment and never the first. Why take away that final option that fixes the problem when all else fails?

So you’re saying adult men and women should legally be able to be cut even though their culture pressures them into for NO MEDICAL OR THERAPEUTIC BENEFIT? You’re saying this man should have known better? He listened to his doctor.pic.twitter.com/a9t3LTINLc

Where is the evidence that there are no medical benefits to male circumcision? I said they should be offered it with full knowledge of the risks when other methods of fixing the problem have failed. That’s the system we have in the U.K.

It shouldn't be offered on a "preventative" basis at all. Amputation is not acceptable preventative medicine.
