I’m thrilled to announce that I’m running as an independent candidate for Hobart City Council. As a climate scientist, I no longer feel able to sit on the sidelines. The coming decade is critical and will transform the way we live. It’s time to put my hand up and do what I can.

Thankyou all so much. It’s been a dark week on many fronts - but mostly because my family has been hit with OSG demands that are so unsafe they’ll see us lose our home. We’re devastated. Every dollar gives us hope & most importantly reminds us of goodness ❀️ #politas

I don’t know if that’s who they really are or if they have just convinced themselves it’s necessary for some greater political good. I do know they have a chance now to change course. The more we all get involved and put pressure on, the more likely that is to happen. #auspol

Labor supports $240 billion worth of tax cuts for the super wealthy and is happy to keep people on jobseeker on starvation payments. You are welcome to take your best shot at convincing me that the ALP is not a right wing party.

now this is more like it! is a new australian battery manufacturer, on track to bring 700 green jobs to the #HunterRegion. (compare this with the #KurriKurri gas plant, expected to bring just 10 brown jobs and cost ~$1bn.)

Pple referring to today as a 'talkfest' are missing/don't know that good policy comes from engagement & consultation. The talking lets people share ideas, their agenda & reach consensus. The minimising of this critical part of the policymaking process is really annoying.#JobsSummit

The Albanese Govt committed to multi national tax reform at the election so they do have a mandate to introduce a super profit tax on multi national gas companies. Let’s get on with it. #auspol

The thing is that if you’re in government you actually can relitigate it. That’s sort of the point. The only excuse not to do so would be if you think it’s a good idea, so the conclusion must be that Labor thinks tax cuts for the rich is a good idea.

PM Anthony Albanese at #npc, asked about the controversial stage 3 tax cuts: β€œwe made a decision that we would stand by that legislation rather than re-litigate it… We inherited it. And I said that we haven't changed our position”
