Yesterday I set up a makeshift portrait studio at Portland Expo to capture the colorful outfits at the Muslim celebration of Eid. I’m so pleased to have been present at such a beautiful and welcoming scene.

2/ A reminder that controller & Waterville mayor Nick Isgro has a long history of outrageous, bigoted statements on social media. Here are a few.

3/ Press needs to stop confusing "ideologically conservative" with "doesn't support LePage." They are two distinctly different things. Thibodeau is ideologically to the Right of LePage, and many who oppose his nonsense are ideological conservatives.

2/ Moody and Mayhew are recent converts to the GOP, & neither is pro-life. Moody was still giving donations to Dems in the last election cycle, and Mayhew ran dem campaigns for a living. If anything, Thibodeau's departure means the field lurches Left ideologically.

1/This claim from the BDN/ is just plain wrong. Thibodeau was the most ideologically conservative person in the primary field,on any issue. Mason is a close second, but the rest aren't even close.I don't think there's even an argument to be had about this.

It’s really weird when the racist androscoggin gop twitter account and the dem cd2 candidate start using the same phrasing.

5/ Another interesting layer to LePage's inexplicable pro-Canada position on softwood tariffs: his daughter's work for New Brunswick's economic development department.

This is some brilliant copyrighting by Team LePage and the Moody campaign. I believe it's a circular reference to himself. Or something. "Shawn is the only candidate who's like Shawn"

LePage worked for Crabbe's family lumber business when he lived in Canada. It would be helpful to understand the relationships LePage maintains with the New Brunswick interests he seems to be putting ahead of Maine's lumber industry.

3/ HJ Crabbe & Sons is the family business of LePage's first wife, Sharon Crabbe, formerly run by one of LePage's self-described mentors, Deane Crabbe.

2/ It's also curious that one of the Canadian companies fighting also against the tariffs is H.J. Crabbe & Sons LTD, a New Brunswick softwood mill. Where have we heard this name before?

1/ Curious why would support ending Canadian softwood tariffs, knowing it would hurt ME mills. LePage has published op-eds in New Brunswick defending NB mills and railing against the tariffs.
