Tomorrow, 260,000 mainly female polio workers will start to vaccinate over 39 million kids across Pakistan. It's one of the most dangerous jobs in the world - more polio workers are killed annually (~100) than there are cases of polio (~30)https://twitter.com/PakFightsPolio/status/1087016906920345601 …

260,000 polio workers will go door-to-door in every village across Pakistan to reach 39m unvaccinated kids. They stop cars at checkpoints to check for unvaccinated kids. They carry refrigerated vaccines, where there's no electricity, across mountains by hand, donkey and canoe

Polio vaccination is a herculean effort, and to eradicate the disease, we have to reach every last child with 2 drops of cold-chained (refrigerated) vaccine. No matter where they live. Only two countries still have polio - Pakistan and Afghanistan. There were 30 cases in 2018

Here, polio workers in Pakistan literally stop cars at polio checkpoints, to find unvaccinated kids (which is a dangerous task in many places). Polio is incredibly contagious. One unvaccinated child can spread polio to at least 15 others https://twitter.com/babarbinatta/status/1086603974227251200 …

You can buy polio vaccines through UNICEF (this is the Canadian link https://shop.unicef.ca/polio-vaccines ), or your local rotary also has a big role in polio vaccination and would love financial support

And let's not forget that the CIA got caught in Pakistan using operatives disguised as health workers doing vaccinations. That's one reason why it's so dangerous.

Can we send anti vaxxers to Pakistan. Some of them could get polio and perhaps learn why we have vaccination programs. That polio still exists in Pakistan is a tragedy. That people question vaccinations is worse. We haven’t had polio in Australia for decades because of vaccines.

Their selfish mindset means that they don't understand that being vaccinated isn't about *themselves* but is about protecting *others* from themselves. RWNJ cult thinking hurts our society in so many ways!
