1.5 kilos of illicit Fentanyl taken off the street in a week. A fraction of what's actually out there. And since #SanFrancisco has no real plan in place to reduce demand yet, what choice do we have but to prosecute and hold drug dealers accountable? @MattHaneySF @SFDAOfficehttps://twitter.com/SFPDTenderloin/status/1412532760548319235 …

So what will happen to those 19 drug dealers who were arrested?

Most or all will be released either on O.R. with no bail or released to pretrial trial diversion. In which case they will go right back to the corners they sell on. Rinse. Repeat.

So what´s the point of the police arresting them in the first place?

Our DA thinks jailing dealers won't help. But I have to ask, where is everyone's conscience? Fentanyl is so lethal that we have to change our approach. We can't provide an effective alternative to jail for an organized drug dealer, because no alternative exists. That's the truth.
