    Today I was denied a renewal of my US Passport and told I would need to get a judge to unseal child welfare records from Foster care in order to "prove" my US Citizenship. Despite having had all "Female" ID since 1999, they are now demanding "Proof of Transition" for the 1st time

    Honestly, it might be better if it isn't in effect for 2020, as long as a non-fascist wins anyway. Fascists would see it as de-legitimizing the new President, and spark off a civil war. But then that might happen anyway, so fuck it.

    I know it's a very "play by the rules, and the fascists will just stop!" kind of thing. But we should use any and every solution we have to stop things getting worse. And maybe we don't get it into force by 2020, but we just get more states in. And then more from 2020 to 2024?

    It only makes the Presidential election first-past-the-post, so still not a great system, but at least one that isn't obscenely anti-democratic. It's also still a long shot. But CT passed it last month. OH, PA, & NC considering it right now. If there was ever a time to push it…

    The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact should be on the top of states' legislative agendas right now, imo. If passed by states w/ a majority of electoral votes, they'll all vote for the popular vote winner, stopping another 2016/2000/1888/1876/1824
