New layer-fMRI preprint on attention effects in the visual system. With extremely convincing data and with important new discussions on the danger of simple subtractions of non-linear layer-fMRI signals. http://dx.doi.org/10.1101/2020.02.01.926303 …pic.twitter.com/d9QzBBChZ5

There will be another layer-fMRI workshop right after
@ISMRM close to Sydney in beautiful Wollongong
with free registration and hands-on hacking.
Please spread the word to your non-twitter friends.pic.twitter.com/8Vk7xNt1LU

Hard to explain in 280 characters
I'll try it in figures:
*proton is a dipole
*dipole is in the center
*it precesses in the external field
*at 7T, speed of light is relevant
*outer parts of brain come are seen later
*with delayed phasepic.twitter.com/rRXuSHpcD2

The brain as seen from a precessing proton. →At 7T, protons rotate so incredibly fast! It takes longer for radio waves to travel through the brain (speed of light) than one full proton rotation. →Swirly pattern comes from the right-hand-rule of the Larmor equation.

Layer-fMRI paper from earlier this month: Remi Gau aims high and tries to investigate two neuroscience concepts at once. Attention and multisensory integration effects are teased apart by means of 6 task conditions in 4 areas! Wow

Hey LAYNII users! I heard your complaints and got rid of LAYNII's last dependency (GSL). Now it can be compiled stand-alone on any system. Even on Windows! https://github.com/layerfMRI/LAYNII …pic.twitter.com/YZDZT1wg9N

Feeling lost in the hunt for smaller voxels; No resolution will ever be high enough.
