I'll be appearing on a panel on social media at the Coke Appellate Inn of Court tonight with @howappealing, @smmarotta, @Jaime_ASantos, and @SyDamle moderating. Sadly not open to the public, but should be a fun evening.

Ironic, no? (But, for good and sufficient reasons, the Inn holds all of its panels off the record.)
-
Respectfully: maybe sufficient, but not good reasons -- especially when the topic is social media. Maybe the Inn, which includes so many
#scotus advocates, should consider making at least some of its events public-facing... -
I have to respectfully disagree. Having an always off-the-record outlet where we can discuss interesting and important issues creates a wonderful community. The ABA and so many other groups have public events that these very SCOTUS advocates speak at.

The key word being "where *we* can discuss...." What about the rest of us? We're jealous and wish we weren't left out, is all.
-
I understand that. I'm just saying that not every group has to be public facing. There are public facing groups that focus on appellate issues (The AJEI annual conference in November is a great example!). Not all have to be broadcast.
